The founder of the PLOVE brand is designer Pavlína Miklasová. As one of the few fashion designers, she is dedicated to purely original Czech swimwear. Her collections are preceded by experimentation and reflection on what swimwear is and can be. Pavlína's design approach straddles the border between applied and conceptual art and includes products with commercial potential as well as freer objects that extend into other areas. Pavlína is a graduate of the Clothing and Footwear Design Studio at UMPRUM in Prague under the guidance of Liběna Rochová.

Since 2017, PLOVE has been the first on the Czech market to use regenerated nylon Econyl® fibers made from nylon waste such as fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet floors, industrial plastics and more in its swimwear collections.
